2025 Scholarship Winner

We are proud to announce that our 2026 Anne E. Parker Memorial RCS scholarship winner of $1000 is December Weight, a Spotsylvania High School graduate who will attend Virginia Commonwealth University this fall. The scholarship is given in memory of Anne E. Parker, a founding member of the Rappahannock Choral Society, to a Spotsylvania County high school graduating senior with plans to pursue an education in the field of music.

Music has been a part of December's life since she was a little girl. She considers music to be a bridge between people, creating understanding without ever needing to speak. 
December will graduate from Spotsylvania High School with a 4.3 GPA. She is involved in many extracurricular activities and community service, especially involving music. She has shown leadership skills in all her academic classes and extra activities.

December plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, including musical theater. She plans to learn about all aspects of theater: acting, singing, directinga nd behind the scense work.
