2024 Scholarship Winner
We are proud to announce that our 2024 Anne E. Parker Memorial RCS scholarship winner of $1500 is Jeffrey Ruiz, a Courtland High School graduate who will attend James Madison University this fall. The scholarship is given in memory of Anne E. Parker, a founding member of the Rappahannock Choral Society, to a Spotsylvania County high school graduating senior with plans to pursue an education in the field of music.
Jeffrey is an exemplary student who was a five-year District Choir member, Color Guard Captain, Tri-M Honor Society President and participated in multiple choirs at Courtland High School.
In the words of Rebecca Larkin, Jeffrey's Teacher for Tomorrow instructor, "Jeffrey is an individual who possesses a unique combination of talent, leadership, and kindness. He is an outgoing and dependable student who consistently displays maturity beyond his years. His commitment to music education, particularly in the field of choir, is unwavering, and he has all the qualities necessary to become a successful music education teacher in the future."
